somerset barn wedding

Somerset Farm Barn Wedding.

When Nicole and Tom contacted me about their plans to hold their wedding at Park Farm in Somerset my eyes lit up as this is one special wedding venue. As a fully DIY private farm venue they hold only a handful of weddings per year and I am extremely grateful that I have photographed so many there. In the UK we always take a risk when choosing a mainly outdoor wedding venue but if this is your decision and it does rain…. like… really rain! just remember that your photographer isn’t panicing. Secretly they are thinking “oooh we’re going to get some well nice moody skies today and the light is going to be super flattering” Your hair might get a little frizzy around the edges and I will spend most of the day stood in the rain photographing people stood under shelter but hey-ho! It’s not going to change the love or the fun that oozes through your day and I will be there, soaked to the bone capturing every wonderful muddy moment! Nicole and Tom chose to hold their reception in a marquee on the lower lawn and decorate it with an extremely lovely crimson red and gold theme with plenty of planted foliage and flowers bringing in the outside to the marquee interior. Set against uncovered chairs and gorgeous lace table runners this colour pallet was elegant whilst sitting in the farm setting perfectly. Nicole was braving the cold rain in her gorgeous backless dress, along with her bridesmaids in amazing Asos dresses, but I was on sun watch every minute of the day and we managed to get most of the locations photographed I had hoped for as well as shoot some lovely portraits in the 4 minutes of sunset light we got! They rocked the night away pounding the marquee dance floor to the sounds of the totally brilliant Italian band ‘The Guns’ ……. with slightly damp feet but massive smiles.

If you are planning your wedding in a feild or on a farm, in Somerset or anywhere else I would love to hear from you!
